Soups with Tomeka Smith
 Soup – it’s what’s for supper. We’ve had a couple of soup classes at TKS but none that have combined two classic soups from two edges of the world! Tomeka Smith, who enjoys bringing the soul of Southern style food to the students of TKS has come up with another wonderful class for all. In this class Tomeka will demonstrate two very different styles of Soups: both are rich in flavor & history. Her Southern style soup is hearty enough to feed even the hungriest of crowds and the other classic is a lighter, brothy French soup but is equally deep in flavor notes. The culinary world brings us many types of cuisine and Soups should not be forgotten, especially since they are a terrific way to feed a small family a couple of meals very economically.
Everyone I know LOVES left over soup! It’s another one of those amazing meals that almost tastes better as a left-over after the flavors have had an entire evening to "get to know each other." And if you’re going to do a soup meal, you also got to have the perfect way to soak up the broth at the bottom of the bowl. Tomeka has that covered in this class, as well. So, if you love soup or you love economical ideas to bring your family rich flavors, this is a class you won’t want to miss!
Class will be held on Thursday, March 28th from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm in the TKS Demonstration Kitchen. This class will be a demonstration style class where you will get to taste every dish prepared and take the recipes home with you. The cost of the class is $24 plus tax and the menu being planned is:
